What is a Developmental Educator?

Developmental Educators (DEs) are qualified professionals who are registered with Developmental Educators Australia Inc (DEAI) and recognised by the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) as disability specific experts.

They provide holistic support to people with disabilities and their families to achieve a high quality of life whether it be through skill development or creating inclusive and accessible opportunities. DEs use key principles in their therapy approach:

Illustrated connected circles featuring a central child silhouette with surrounding scenes of houses and trees, set against a yellow background.
Illustration of a boy in a wheelchair, surrounded by symbols of a light bulb, book, and crayon in thought bubbles, set against a cloudy backdrop.
Illustration of a tree with a child's profile in a center star, surrounded by stars and shields.
Abstract illustration of two blue-colored children facing each other, surrounded by a large yellow gear and smaller pink circles with additional children's faces.
